DJ PRETTYNYCE

DA CURE

On July 13, 1987 an icon was born by the name of PrettyNyce Da Cure.

He’s a young, very talented, and gifted deejay born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.

The alias, PrettyNyce originated from many his early childhood experiences of being called a “pretty boy”.

He knew that being a deejay was always going to be part of him starting at age five. He knew his overall style would set him apart from all other deejay’s which would eventually make him one of the greatest.

What makes him so special is very easy to figure out once you have met him and see the passion and love he has for what he does, it’s very apparent that he’s in it for the love of it.

His music edge would allow him to connect with the event attendees easier because he knows how to get the crowd going. He is able to get a crowd going and receive such a response that often surprises him and everyone else around. From the reaction of crowd his sister/best friend Mimi gave him his second alias as “DA CURE”. He would give the crowd exactly what they need to take away and pain and or stress they may have come with for the time and “cure” them with music just as a doctor would to a patient.

Due to the fact that PrettyNyce is young, there are people out there who constantly doubt his talent, however being who he is he steps up to the challenge with a positive attitude and prove to the non-believers that not only is PrettyNyce one of the most proficient and unique artist rising in his generation but he is also extremely advanced for his age.

He wants to be one of the youngest to own many different assets and become extremely helpful in the music community. PrettyNyce has already started by forming his first group called FINAL LEVEL with other extravagant deejays such as himself.

PrettyNyce has already made a name for himself in many clubs throughout New York. He played at Clubs like Fahrenheit, Vesta, Remix, CPAC, Elite Ark, and many others. The capacity of these clubs range from 400 to 1500 people and PrettyNyce is not afraid to get them all on their feet at a drop of a beat.

PrettyNyce also received the opportunity to travel to Africa with The Rhythm Road American Music Abroad Program in 2009. The urban/ hip-hop group from New York was selected from a pool of 89 applicants to travel abroad and promote cross-cultural understanding. International tour activities include public concerts, master classes, lecture-demonstrations, workshops, jam sessions, media outreach and collaborations with local musicians. He received the chance to travel to several counties in Africa such as Mauritania (Feb. 7-Feb. 12), Togo (Feb. 14-18), Cote d’Ivoire (Feb. 19-23), Mali (Feb. 24-27), Burkina Faso (Feb. 28-Mar. 2), and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Mar. 3 – 9). He did not only enjoy the trip but he was also enlightened from that experience and took away so much from the culture and people he was around.

PrettyNyce also played for a radio station called 99.3 Star FM on Saturdays from 6pm to 8pm with his team member’s Final Level. He also played for Medgar Evers College on Mon and Wed nights from 9 to 12. On both station PrettyNyce shows his versatility and plays everything from Kompa, Soca, Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggaeton, Salsa and more.

You name it and he plays it. He is currently taking over online radio. You can hear him now and stations such as DTFRadio.com, Every Thursdays From 9pm to 10pm.

You may look at PrettyNyce and think he is young but his accomplishments have spoken for themselves. He finds an opportunity and takes it and never leaves someone disappointed or has them feel like he has made the wrong choice. He’s known for always leaving a crowd wanting more and takes each opportunity as a life lesson.

He hopes to gain a lot in life through being deejay and is very grateful and humble for all the support he has received and will continue to receive.
